We are a proposed 6-8 public charter school in Nashville enrolling students for the 27-28 school year. The Gate School cultivates student independence, effective communication, and academic excellence through outstanding teaching and purposeful use of technology, preparing every student for the high school and career of their choice.

WHAT MAKES THE GATE SCHOOL UNIQUE
1. Outstanding Teaching
Every adult at The Gate School teaches, including school leaders. Our “Teaching Firm” model keeps leadership grounded in the classroom and ensures teaching quality is constantly improving. Teachers receive ongoing coaching and support, creating a culture where strong instruction is the expectation and the norm.
2. Visible Thinking
Classrooms are built around structured, discussion-based learning where students make their thinking visible every day. Through Harkness-style dialogue, they explain their ideas, challenge one another, and refine their thinking using evidence and feedback. Every student is expected to actively participate, think deeply and contribute to the learning of the group.
3. Purposeful AI
AI is used to accelerate feedback and personalize learning so students get support when they need it and more opportunities to improve. Students also build AI literacy, learning how these tools work, how to use them responsibly, and how to think critically alongside them. Teachers remain central, using AI to free up time for coaching and deeper instruction.
